The Bibi-Ka-Maqbara is a mausoleum built in memory of Aurangzeb’s

The Archaeological Museum is a small museum, managed by the Archaeological
Society of India. It has a good collection of artefacts of the Mughal
period.
The Himroo Factory is famous for its traditional handlooms produced
shawls and other textiles in blends of cotton, silk and silver threads.
It also produces the Paithani saris with gold weave brocades. The factory
also has a showroom where one can shop.
The Panchakki is a water mill where the water travels through an
underground channel from a source believed to be 6 km away in the mountains.
The garden and dancing fountains from the fish-filled tanks enhance the
beauty of this place.
The Purwar Museum has an interesting collection of a 500-year-old
chain mail suit, an 800-year-old Paithani sari, and a copy of Qur’an handwritten
by Aurangzeb.
The Aurangabad Caves are Buddhist caves with interesting illustrations
from the Jataka tales.
Other monuments worth visiting are the Kali Masjid, Shah Ganj
Mosque, Chauk Masjid, Lal Masjid and the Naukonda Palace.
The Ajanta and Ellora Caves are listed among the World Heritage
sites. While the cave temples at Ajanta are exclusively Buddhist, those
at Ellora are dedicated to Brahmanism, Jainism and Buddhism. Both temples
have spectacular sculptures, carved panels, frescoes, mural paintings
etc. of painstaking labor and incredible beauty.

The fortress of Daulatabad is en route Ellora. It stands on a pyramid-shaped
hill originally known as Devagiri or ‘the hill of the gods’. The attractions
of the fort are the Chand Minar, Jama Masjid, Chini Mahal,
Qila Shikan and the Baradari.
Grishneshwara Temple, an important Hindu pilgrim place, is located
in the village of Verul, near Ellora caves. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas
of India, where Lord Shiva is worshipped.
The tomb of Aurangzeb lies at Khuldabad. It is simple and without
a canopy in accordance of his wishes.
Situated on the Godavari River, Paithan is famous for its traditional
Paithani silk saris.
The Bani Begum Gardens surround the tomb of one of Aurangzeb’s
queens and are situated 24 kms from Aurangabad.
