Travel Agent for Daman and Diu

The twin islands of Daman and Diu are known for their beaches, forts, churches and exotic liquors. Lying on the edge of the southern borders of Gujarat, in western India, the co-existence of ancient forts and churches with the pubs of today, creates a strange ambience of nostalgia and pleasure in this Union Territory. We, as a prominent Travel Agent concern for India offer unique holiday packages and travel and tour services to this tourist haven if you want to escape the bustle of life.

Daman and Diu offer a large number of historic and religious sites, together with immense natural beauty and picturesque landscapes.

Some of the tourist spots in Daman are:

The formidable Fortress of Moti Daman lies on the southern bank of the Damanganga River. Erected between 1559-1593, it has a fascinating ancient lighthouse that beckons the waves with its rotating lights.

Built on the northern bank of Damanganga, the Fort of St. Jerome was constructed between 1614-1627. Unlike the fortress of Moti Daman, it is smaller and less ornate, and does not have a surrounding moat. The Governor’s Palace, inside the fort of Moti Daman, is another tourist spot.

The Bom Jesus Church, Our Lady of Rosary Church and a Jain Temple with 18th century murals depicting the life of Mahavira are some of the religious sites. The Devka Beach with its park of trees, exotic plants and musical fountain is the most famous. The Jampore Beach is of special interest to the swimmers

Some other attractions worth visiting at Daman are the Lake Garden of the Satya Nagar Udyan, Gandhi Park and the Se Cathedral.

Some of the tourist spots in Diu are:

The Fort of Diu that also serves as the island’s jail was constructed between 1535 and 1541, and also houses a museum.

The Fortem Du Mar or Panikotha is a fortress built upon rocks right into the sea. It is approachable by motorboat from the fort jetty.

The Zampa Gateway has carvings of lions, angels and a priest, and has a chapel inside with an inscription dating back to 1702. The artificial Zampa waterfall is an attractive feature.

The St. Paul’s Church is the only old church still active. It was built between 1601 and 1610 and is consecrated to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception.

The old St. Thomas’s Church has been taken over by the authorities and converted into the Diu Museum. It now encapsulates the present and past of Diu.

The Marwar Memorial commemorates the liberation of Goa, Daman, and Diu from the Portuguese in 1961.

The Gangeshwar Temple is a small temple by the sea, where the lingam washed by the sea-waves is a revered shrine.

The Nagoa beach is the most famous in Diu. Since it is shaped like a horseshoe, one can swim there throughout the day. The beaches of Jallandhar, Chakratirth and Gomatimata are other lovely beaches in Diu.

In the after hours in Diu, one can enjoy movies at the Aradhana Theatre or visit the Diu Municipal Library, District Library or Narottam Mulji & Revabai Library.
